The Double Whammy!

We have had two big snow storms since this Friday. These two storms are great news for skiers and snowboarders. The chances of avalanches are heightened in the mountains.
We have a picture of some friends shoveling, and Dan in front of a snow pile.
Today we have 19 inches of snow. Weather Warrior says " The snow is up to our knees." There is a Wind Chill advisory in effect for our area until 7pm tonight. Today's high is expected to be a temperature of 19 degrees, with a chance of snow. The low tonight is supposed to be down to 2 below zero. And for your Christmas Eve events you will get a mix of rain and snow.

Aftermath

Yesterday it was very snowy. White River got an approximate 7 inches. O Tsunami said more snow is coming. We are supposed to get snow on Friday. There is a chance of school delays, said Joe the Hurricane. Nathan Old Man Winter in the state of NH says that there were about 500,000 people in the area without power from the ice storm. Electric companies from South Carolina and Canada were helping out up here fixing the power lines.

The Start of a Cold Winter

The day started with an orange and pink sunrise. We saw a little bit of sun and now it is gray and cloudy. It feels like December in Vermont. It's 35 degrees right now but feels like 25.

This picture by Joe Hurricane shows the grey sky and bare branches except for a kite left from warmer days.

More of the Same!

This picture was taken by O. Tsunami
It shows what a mess it is out there!

It snowed last night and then rained. then it started to sleet, which is just snow and rain together. Now it's sprinkling. It's in the 40's right now. There is not enough snow to go sledding or snow shoeing or skiing. It is weather for sitting inside.
Hurricane Girl is predicting 6 - 8 inches of snow!
